This feature is available as an account feature upgrade, for those wishing for a simple easy to use interface to restrict access to certain areas of their website.
BigTime offers several levels of protection integration to choose, from very simple single user modules to a high-end password protection and member management system developed to protect and secure your business's web site without the hassles and limitations of common password protectors.
Since this is a self-maintainable module (meaning something you the user will maintain), you should have some of the following characteristics if you are considering having BigTime adding and integrating this feature to your domain:

- You should be comfortable with computers in general with an intermediate level of computing experience.
- You should be resourceful and be able to find and refer to simple help files to solve your problems independently

Secure Zones is an account upgrade that restricts access to certain portions of your website.
Genereally these areas are used for either site administration, or for members only zones.
Users are granted access to these zones via a username and password. When someone tries to access this area
they are prompted with a pop-up screen requesting this username and password. Only a valid entry grants access.
Invalid entries receive several more attempts then default to an authorization required screen appears.
Setting up the simplest user authentication consists of:
- Creating a file containing usernames and passwords.
- Telling the server what resources are to be protected and which users are allowed to access them.
More complex solutions append an entire software suite to your domain which acts as a User Management
System with features such as:
- Registration System
- Newsletters
- Mass Email
- Lost Password Recovery
- Login Announcement System
- Automated Emailing
- Statistical Information
- User Account Updating
- 3rd Party Payment Gateways

This feature relies on a file called htaccess. It is an Apache (Linux/Unix) thing, not an NT (Microsoft) thing. There are similar capabilities for NT servers, though they have proved their ability in these areas is severely handicapped. It is for this reason that we offer Linux/Unix hosting ONLY.
The very basic module is a simple behind the scene file that hold encrypted data that corresponds to usernames and passwords. This is completely appropriate for a small organization that does not expect to run a member base, but rather wants to implement some administrative
secure zone for business purposes.
The more complex solution allows online registrations, with or without administration approval, and a huge host of other features.
With the exception of the adminitration panel (which is not available to the public) it is seemlessly integrated within your sites design.

I have 3 different levels of Secure Zones available:
- Simple less than 10 user private usage, non-member based is $100
- Medium sized solution for more active registrations is $200
- Large Scale Member Management with integrated payment gateways, Mass Email features is $350
In addition there may be a change in your hosting tier package, depending on what package you currently have.
You will be provided a detailed help file via a .pdf when you sign up for this feature. This file will include basic usage, as well as a reference to commonly used HTML tags for advanced features not readily available through the user interface. Support is always available, but
advanced support will be credited towards your pre-paid package of hours.
